Statistics state that thirty people die every minute from starvation and malnutrition. Our spirit man is also starving. In us is a God shaped hole. What are you putting in your God shape hole? Are you filling it up with the day to day things of life? Are you hungry for God?

Psalm 107:1-9
1Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say this—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. 5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and he delivered them from their distress. 7He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Worship(noun) \ˈwər-shəp
The act of bowing down to or honoring someone or something.

Psalms 95 explains worship as shouting aloud to the Lord, singing, kneeling and/or bowing down to the Lord. It’s both rejoiceful and reverent. It should change with the circumstances. Psalms 96 tells us how to worship. It says to sing a new song. Worship should be fresh. Worship should come from within. Repeated phrases do not make for truthful worship. Psalms 96 also states worship should be daily. One should worship regardless of the situation they are in. Worship should be brought as an offering to the Lord. It needs to be a gift worthy of God.

Psalms 96 also tells why we should worship. God is our savior, He gave us life. He is most powerful and should be feared over all others. He made the heavens and the earth. He is our judge, and will judge us in truth.

David is the best example of what worship is. His wife reprimands him for his “undignified” public display. David tells her that he will be even more undignified and humiliated. He didn’t care what the world thought of his worship to the Lord. He knew it was the right thing to do.

” Life is 10% of what happens to you, 90% how you react to what happens to you.”

One’s attitude plays an important role in worship. It effects one’s self and the people around them. Do you allow the world to define your emotions or do you? Regardless of our situation, God is worthy of our praise. If we can overcome our problems, others may overcome theirs be following our example.

So remember, worship is: physical, emotional, based on faith, and always personal.

In Ezekiel 47, a man shows Ezekiel the temple with water flowing out. He then takes Ezekiel out into the water. They walk out 100 cubits, about 580 yards. The water only comes to their ankles. They walk out another 580 yards, the water is now only to their knees. Then another 580 yards, now it’s to their waist. After another 580 yards it’s a river that can not be crossed.

From an Old Testament point of view, the temple is God and the water is life flowing out from him. Which is an awesome idea. But from the New Testament point of view, our bodies are the temples of God. The water is the spirit of God flowing through us into our world. The river is alive. It brings life. It sustains life. God’s purpose for us is to be a river, with his love flowing through us out to our world. We shouldn’t be a pond, stagnant and dead. The quickest way to stop God’s blessings in our lives is to keep them to ourselves. We must let the river flow. We must get wet. How wet do you want to get?

Ezekiel 47 The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was flowing from the south side. 3As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. 4He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. 5He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had
risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. 6He asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?” Then he led me back to the bank of the river. 7When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each
side of the river. 8He said to me, “This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, f where it enters the Sea. When it empties into the Sea, the water there becomes fresh. 9Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows
everything will live. 10Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Great Sea. 11But the swamps and marshes
will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. 12Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary
flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”

On the television show “Trading Spaces”, Two couples decorates a room in each others house. They go in and remove old, outdated furniture and decor. They either paint, build, or buy things to replace the “old junk”. In an attempt to update and beautify the room. And like “Trading Spaces”, when our lives are full of “junk” we turn to God to make us new. God comes in and paints over our sins. Gets rid of the junk.

2Corinthians5:17 says,

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

But…

How many times do we turn around, when times are not tough, and bring the “junk” back into our lives?

When we repent and are baptized, there is a burial of our “old self”, our sinful self. We shouldn’t make the mistake of carrying the old dead body around. It will only cause decay in our new life.

Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of
worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what
God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

We were born to this world but we were not made for this world. Just like a small child trying to climb stairs for the first time, trying to see what is on the counter. Crawling up onto the couch or the bed. Our world was not made by us. And spiritually, it’s not our size. We can’t comprehend all that it has to offer.

Isaiah 55:8

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your way my ways, declares the lord”

And like a small child we sometimes need our father to lift us up to see the world from His perspective. We can’t have thoughts like God because we cannot see the world from His perspective. We can’t live His way if we cannot see his ways. We are blinded by sin. It separates us from God. We need to put on our spiritual glasses, and filter the world around us with God eyes.
