What are you hungry for?

January 13, 2008

Statistics state that thirty people die every minute from starvation and malnutrition. Our spirit man is also starving. In us is a God shaped hole. What are you putting in your God shape hole? Are you filling it up with the day to day things of life? Are you hungry for God?

Psalm 107:1-9
1Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say this—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. 5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and he delivered them from their distress. 7He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Worship

January 2, 2008

Worship(noun) \ˈwər-shəp
The act of bowing down to or honoring someone or something.

Psalms 95 explains worship as shouting aloud to the Lord, singing, kneeling and/or bowing down to the Lord. It’s both rejoiceful and reverent. It should change with the circumstances. Psalms 96 tells us how to worship. It says to sing a new song. Worship should be fresh. Worship should come from within. Repeated phrases do not make for truthful worship. Psalms 96 also states worship should be daily. One should worship regardless of the situation they are in. Worship should be brought as an offering to the Lord. It needs to be a gift worthy of God. How Wet Do You Want To Get?

October 28, 2007

In Ezekiel 47, a man shows Ezekiel the temple with water flowing out. He then takes Ezekiel out into the water. They walk out 100 cubits, about 580 yards. The water only comes to their ankles. They walk out another 580 yards, the water is now only to their knees. Then another 580 yards, now it’s to their waist. After another 580 yards it’s a river that can not be crossed. Spirtual Optometry

September 9, 2007

We were born to this world but we were not made for this world. Just like a small child trying to climb stairs for the first time, trying to see what is on the counter. Crawling up onto the couch or the bed. Our world was not made by us. And spiritually, it’s not our size. We can’t comprehend all that it has to offer.

Isaiah 55:8

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your way my ways, declares the lord”

And like a small child we sometimes need our father to lift us up to see the world from His perspective. We can’t have thoughts like God because we cannot see the world from His perspective. We can’t live His way if we cannot see his ways. We are blinded by sin. It separates us from God. We need to put on our spiritual glasses, and filter the world around us with God eyes.
